  • What is Squirrel Box?
    Squirrel Box is a camping gear delivery, setup and tear down service. Book with Squirrel Box and tell us where and when you are going camping and we do the rest. We provide clean and good quality camping gear to get you camping and relaxing right away. While Squirrel Box does not service all campgrounds, please contact us and we can determine if we can service your campground location and dates.
  • Are Squirrel Box Camping Packages Guaranteed?
    We guarantee you will that you will not be over booked! This does require us to have a very strict cancellation policy so that we only offer gear that is available. In the rare occasion there is an issue, please call our support line at (513) 488-1010 anytime and the Squirrel Box team will get you camping right away
  • What is Squirrel Box's Cancellation Policy?
    You will need to contact Squirrel Box directly for any cancellation. Your time and date of the call will be taken into account when you call us at (513) 488-1010. . Cancellations made between greater than 3 weeks to the reservation will be refunded in full. . Cancellations made between 2 to 3 weeks to the reservation will be charged 25% of the total charge. . Cancellations made between 1 to 2 weeks to the reservation will be charged 50% of the total charge. . Cancellations made between 48 hours and 1 week to the reservation will be charged 75% of the total charge. . Cancellations less than 48 hours to the reservation will be charged in full. . If Squirrel Box shows up to setup your campsite and the camp office does not have your reservation, we will make efforts to contact you about the reservation. If the reservation still does not exist you will be charged in full. . Squirrel Box will schedule a camp “check-in” time on your first day of the reservation. The person who made the reservation must be present to ensure proper setup of camp and camping supplies are delivered. If there is a no-show, Squirrel Box has the right to cancel the reservation and the reservation will be charged in full. . Squirrel Box reserves the right to cancel any reservation before and during the scheduled reservation for the entire or remaining charges left on the reservation.
  • My reservation says it starts at 5pm, does that mean everything will be setup at this time?"
    Our reservation system requires us to put the same start and end time for all reservations. During the reservation process we will ask you when you would like to arrive and leave your campsite. We will then adjust the time of the reservation to match when we have staff to setup and tear down the camping gear.
  • When can I arrive and leave the campsite?
    Please refer to your park campground reservation check-in and check out times. Squirrel Box will not be allowed to setup your campground outside of these times. Please allow 1 hours for setup and 1 hour for tear down of the camping gear.
  • Can I make multiple reservations?
    Absolutely! After you reserve your package, please return to the main website page and click the "Book Now" button and reserve again.
  • Can I extend my reservation?
    This depends on availability. If availability is open, we can extend you reservation. Please contact Squirrel Box at (513) 488-1010 to make this happen.
  • We need to change our reservation dates/times, what do we do?"
    You will need to contact Squirrel Box directly for any change in the existing reservation. Your time and date of the call will be taken into account when you call us at (513) 488-1010.
  • Is Squirrel Box gear clean and how often is it cleaned?
    We take serious pride on the cleanliness and quality of the gear that we provide. We inspect, clean and repair each piece of gear when we get it back from the last reservation. Sleeping bags are washed and sanitized before each reservation. If it can not be cleaned we will not be offered for booking.
  • How many people can your tents hold?
    It depends on which type of bedding you are looking for. We limit the number of people for a confortable stay with room to move around. Using cots: There is a limit of 4 for the large tent and 2 for the small tent. Using floor foam pads" There is a limit or 6 for the large tent and 3 for the small tent.
  • Do I need to be there for the setup?
    Likely no. We will contact the park office when arriving to validate your name and site number before we start setting things up. In the rare occasion that the park will not let us enter your site without you, we will make every effort to contact you to get access to start setting things up. If this still becomes challenging we will meet you at your campsite during arrival time and setup up when you are there.
  • Are pets allowed in tents?
    Dogs are welcome in tents as long as they are responsible and follow park guidlines for pet policies.
  • What do I need to bring camping?
    A few things we recommend you bringing: - Clothing appropriate for the weather * Remember evenings can get cool - Extra shoes and socks - incase first pair get wet, close toed are best - Food for meals and snacks for hiking *don't forget aluminum foil, can opener, salt & pepper, etc depending on what you are making (We recommend prepping food as much as possible before hand to save time. You also won't need to pack as much) - Cooking and prepping equipment if you plan on having hot meals. - Water & extra water Did we mention water? - Backpack for hikes and to carry toiletries to to restrooms. - Water Bottle - Sheet or blanket *Sometimes the sleeping bag gets too hot during warmer months and a sheet is nice. Blanket during cooler weather. - Firestarter *Lighter, matches and firestarter material - Firewood Please check with campground. Some require you to buy from them. - Bug Spray - Sunscreen - Toiletries (soap, toothbrush, paste, towel, washcloth, deodorant, etc.) - Toilet paper Even if they have restrooms, you never want to run out! - Hand sanitizer - Rain jacket - Towel - they come handy for many things - Tablecloth and clips - Trash bags - Plates, forks, knives, cups, etc - Dish soap, wash bin, pot scrubber, - Headlamps are great for night hiking - 1st Aid Kit for bug bites, poison ivy, scrapes, allergies - Bike, fishing pole, outdoor games, books, binoculars, etc for having fun - Map of campground
  • What if I have a question about the tent or equipment I rented while I am camping?
    Just give us a call at 513-488-1010. We remain on call 24 hours for emergencies that may come up.
  • What if I decide to leave camp early?
    We ask that you give us a call as soon as you decide so we may come and collect the gear.
  • I made my reservation with Squirrel Box. Now what?
    We will be contacting you about 2 days before your reservation date to verify what you will need. We will set up a time to meet you at your campsite at that time. You may be contacted earlier if we have additional questions.
  • What if the campground I want to go to is not listed?
    Please contact us to see if we can accomodate that location.
  • Do you have longer camp packages?
    Yes! Please contact us for availability and pricing.
  • I don't have a credit card. Do you take other forms of payment?
    At this time we only take credit card payments.
  • Can I pay with more than one credit card to split the payment with friends?
    Yes!
  • I only ordered the Tent Package but now I want to add on the Cooking Package. How do I do that?
    Please contact us so we may add it on for you.
  • Can I just rent the cooking package without the tent?
    We are sorry, but a tent package is required.
  • How many people can we have at one campsite?
    Each campground is different. Please check wht the campground rules to see what is allowed before reserving our gear. If allowed, our tents accomodate up to 6 people in large tent and up to 3 people in smaller tent depending if using foam pads or cots. If reserving 2 tents, please make sure site is large enough to accomodate both. We are not responsible for verifying rules and size of site for each campground.
  • How much room is in a tent?
    The maximum occupancy is 4 cots or 6 foam pads for the larger tent and 2 cots and 3 foam pads in smaller one. It is close quarters at maximum occupancy. The larger tent is actually an eight person tent and the smaller one is a four person tent, but that would be very uncomfortable.
